Online: 404 Game Release Date

Online: 404 is scheduled to enter Steam Early Access on October 16, 2026. The official listing still described it as upcoming when checked on October 15. This is the planned Early Access date, rather than a version 1.0 release date.

The current planned date

The Steam store and the developer’s August 26 announcement agree on October 16, 2026. That agreement makes the later date the appropriate answer to the release question. Earlier dates remain useful as history, but they should not be presented as the current launch schedule.

Gamepressure also lists October 16 as an Early Access release. The collected iGame timeline corroborates the same revised date. The primary basis for the answer remains Cornfield Games’ own announcement together with the current storefront.

How the release schedule changed

The developer originally described a launch at the end of July 2026. After the public demo, a June 28 announcement moved Early Access to September 25. The August 26 update then moved the date forward by three weeks to October 16.

The latest delay announcement explains that the additional time would allow more polishing and room for unexpected issues. It does not describe the September date as a completed release. A listing that still uses July or September is therefore recording an earlier plan.

What Early Access means for the story

The current store FAQ says the first third of the story is available. Older developer announcements had promised the full story at the Early Access launch. For the current description, use the newer store information rather than carrying the older promise forward.

A planned Early Access date and the scope of its story are separate facts. Neither establishes a dated version 1.0 launch. Keeping them separate makes it easier to understand what the current listing actually offers and why older articles can disagree.

The demo date is not the main release date

The free public demo opened on June 14, 2026. Developer announcements said it would remain publicly available until the end of that month. That earlier playable test does not turn the main game’s October Early Access date into a June release.

Demo footage is useful historical coverage of the game. Its presence online does not show that the main release was already available on the date the video appeared. Read the demo and main-game dates as distinct events in the development timeline.

Check the official listing for availability

The checked research does not establish an exact local unlock time. A countdown is not enough to publish a reliable timezone-specific launch schedule. Use the live Steam listing to check whether the product is actually available to your account.

The answer in this article is dated October 15, 2026, one day before the planned release. It describes a scheduled launch and does not claim that release has already happened. The Steam and price articles cover the store identity and purchase information separately.
