How much of the story is in Early Access
The Steam Early Access FAQ says the first third of the story is available. Some older developer announcements had promised the full story at the Early Access launch. The newer store wording is the one to rely on for what the first build contains.
That still leaves a lot to explore in the sealed-off Leminsgale District. The story continues to be expanded during Early Access rather than arriving all at once. Players who want the complete narrative may prefer to wait for version 1.0.
Systems already in the first build
The developers say the core mechanics are in place. The FAQ lists co-op, crafting, building, farming, vehicles, zombies and base raids as part of the current state. The in-game smartphone remains the central tool for research, navigation and crafting.
Co-op supports solo play or a team of up to four players. Crafting runs through the phone’s Notes app, and base building uses materials such as wood and salvaged vehicle panels. The beginner, crafting and base building guides on this wiki cover those systems in more detail.
What version 1.0 is meant to add
Cornfield Games plans to add new locations and several new survival mechanics before the final release. The roadmap also mentions more ways to interact with zombies and animals. Professional voice acting and expanded mini-games on the in-game phone are listed too.
Bug fixing is part of the plan throughout Early Access. The developers say player feedback will guide fixes, balance changes, new features and settings. These are stated intentions rather than a dated patch schedule.
How long Early Access is planned to last
The store FAQ says the team plans to reach the final version within 6–12 months. Counting from an October 2026 launch, that points to sometime in 2027. No specific 1.0 date has been announced.
The studio is a team of two, so schedules have moved before. The Early Access date itself shifted from late July to September 25 and then to October 16. Treat the 6–12 month window as a goal, not a promise.
What Early Access means for the price
The developers say the game is sold at a reduced price during Early Access. After version 1.0, they plan to review the price based on how much content has been added. That suggests the Early Access price may be the lowest regular price, although no final figure has been published.
Steam showed no price for the game when checked on October 18, 2026. The price article tracks the listing and the developer’s pricing statements. Expect a price to appear only when the store switches from coming soon to a purchase button.
When Early Access actually starts
Early Access was planned for October 16, 2026 but did not launch that day. Cornfield Games says the build is ready and is waiting for Steam to approve it after a trailer edit. The developer mentioned a launch that weekend or on Monday, October 19.
The release date article follows the launch status as it changes. The Discord article explains where the developers post quick updates. Both pages are rechecked against the official Steam listing.
