Online: 404 Demo Availability

The Online: 404 demo opened on June 14, 2026 and was scheduled to leave public access at the end of June. No demo download offer was visible on the main Steam listing checked on October 15. The demo and full game use separate Steam app IDs.

When the public demo ran

Cornfield Games announced the public demo for June 14 after moving it from an earlier June 12 plan. The launch announcement described access lasting until the end of June. A June 28 follow-up repeated that limited window and said the demo would be removed from public access afterward.

The later announcement is important when following old download links. A launch post can accurately say that a demo is available at the time it is published. It cannot establish that the same offer remains open months after the developer’s stated end date.

The demo has a separate Steam identity

The main Online: 404 Steam application is 4094350. The demo is application 4744250, which SteamDB records as a demo with a June 14 release. Those identifiers help distinguish the temporary test from the main product when comparing listings.

A historical demo entry can remain visible in a database even when the main store no longer offers its download. Its recorded release date identifies the demo’s past launch. It is not proof of present public installation access.

What the current download check shows

The main Steam page checked for this article did not show a demo download option. That observation agrees with the developer’s announced end-of-June removal plan. It provides a reason to use the current store page rather than assuming an old promotional link still works.

Access for accounts that previously claimed the demo was not tested in this research. This page therefore describes public availability and does not make a claim about every existing library entitlement. The official storefront is the appropriate destination for checking your account’s available actions.

How to read older demo coverage

June footage and forum posts describe a test build. The developer invited bug reports and used the demo period to identify issues before the main release. Controls and behavior shown in that material should be read in the context of that test.

The developer’s workbench reply is one example of useful demo-era guidance. It identifies the Notes app crafting interface and the proximity indicator. The crafting and workbench articles keep that date context attached to the instructions.

The full game remains a separate listing

The main product’s planned October 16, 2026 date is for Steam Early Access. A free demo does not establish that the full game is free. For purchase information, use the main listing and its pricing FAQ.

The verified answer here is the demo’s documented public window and the absence of a visible download offer in the checked listing. It is not a promise that an archived link can install the test. The related Steam and release articles explain the main game’s listing and schedule.
